World Vision International is seeking an experienced Branch Operations Manager to oversee and strengthen branch-level operations across its microfinance network in Rwanda. This is a senior leadership role for someone who thrives on turning strategy into measurable results — managing branch teams, safeguarding portfolio quality, and driving financial inclusion for vulnerable communities.
“If you have a proven track record of growing microfinance operations, managing branch networks, and leading through complexity — this role was built for you.”
What you’ll do

- •Monitor weekly and monthly execution across all branches; intervene swiftly on underperformance
- •Oversee branch profitability and manage opening, closing, or merging of branches as needed
Strategy Implementation & Partnerships
- •Drive the 3 pillars of strategy: Savings Group (SG) linkages, traditional lending, and IT/digital implementation
- •Coordinate closely with World Vision Rwanda on SG linkage targets and field integration
- •Champion cashless operations and digital channels (3 PIN, mobile money) in all branches
Risk Management & Compliance
- •Oversee internal control systems to protect assets and reduce credit and operational risk
- •Monitor PAR, loan loss ratio, rescheduled portfolios, and audit finding closures across branches
- •Ensure full compliance with MFI/VFI policies, National Bank of Rwanda regulations, and lender covenants
People Management & Capacity Building
- •Lead recruitment, performance management, and succession planning for branch managers and team leaders
- •Conduct regular field visits (minimum 60% of time in branches) to coach and assess teams
- •Develop capacity building plans; ensure all high-performing staff have active development plans
Social Performance & Client Protection
- •Ensure the MFI reaches target clients — low-income women with dependent children, ADP areas
- •Uphold Client Protection Principles; manage client complaints and monthly reporting to Risk & Compliance
Minimum requirements
