About the Organization

FINANCIAL SAFETY COMPANY (FISA CO) PLC is a microfinance institution licensed by the National Bank of Rwanda (BNR) and registered with RDB. Established in 2013, our mission is to provide inclusive financial services to underserved populations, specifically farmers, entrepreneurs, women, and youth in rural areas. We are dedicated to poverty reduction through wealth-creating projects.

We are currently recruiting a self-motivated Managing Director with high integrity and excellent communication skills to lead our operations headquartered in Rubavu.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director will oversee the daily operations and strategic direction of the institution.

• Strategic Leadership: Ensure the implementation of decisions made by the General Assembly and Board of Directors. Draft and review business plans, action plans, and budgets.

• Operational Management: Oversee and coordinate day-to-day activities. Propose amendments to policies and ensure strict adherence to laws, regulations, and internal procedures.

• Financial Oversight: Prepare, review, and submit financial reports to the Board. Ensure a robust internal control system is in place.

• HR & Administration: Manage staff recruitment, appraisals, and performance assessments.

• Representation: Sign contracts on behalf of the institution and represent FISA CO PLC before the law and partners.

• Growth: Conduct research and surveys to drive institutional development and perform other duties as defined by company policy.

Job Requirements

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Nationality: Must be of Rwandan nationality.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree (A0) in Economics, Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Microfinance or Banking.

  • At least 3 years held in a management position.

• Skills:

  • Proficiency in Kinyarwanda, English, and French.

  • Computer literacy, specifically with banking software and accounting software.

  • Strong understanding of marketing principles.

  • Excellent communication, writing, and adaptation skills.

• Attributes: Must be conscientious, of good moral character, and have a strong social reputation.
