LuNa Smelter Ltd is Rwanda’s leading tin smelter. As part of its expansion and optimization strategy, the company seeks skilled professionals to enhance production capacity and meet growing domestic and regional mining sector demand.
Position Overview:
The Project Supply Chain Manager will report directly to the Project Manager and lead supply chain, procurement, and logistics operations for the smelter. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient sourcing, shipping, and delivery of critical equipment and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement project supply chain and procurement strategies.
Manage procurement contracts and negotiate commercial terms with vendors and suppliers.
Oversee logistics, shipping, customs clearance, and delivery of heavy or oversized equipment.
Coordinate with engineering and project teams for timely release of specifications.
Establish inventory tracking and materials management systems.
Monitor supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and local regulations.
Analyze data to identify bottlenecks and optimize supply chain processes.
Train and guide supply chain staff to improve efficiency.
Maintain detailed records of materials and supplies and optimize inventory levels.
Implement safety and quality standards in all supply chain operations.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain management.
Knowledge of international sourcing, Incoterms, and logistics operations.
Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; MoR certification is an advantage.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to manage vendor and client relationships.
