Psychiatrist – Kigali Psycho Medical Center (Full-Time, On-Site)

Kigali Psycho Medical Center is seeking a qualified and compassionate Psychiatrist to join its growing medical team. This full-time, on-site role in Kigali, Rwanda, involves providing high-quality psychiatric care to individuals, families, and adolescents experiencing mental health challenges.

As a key member of the clinical team, the Psychiatrist will perform diagnostic evaluations, develop personalized treatment plans, prescribe medication when appropriate, and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat mental health disorders in adults and adolescents.

  • Conduct psychiatric assessments and clinical evaluations.

  • Develop tailored treatment plans and monitor patient progress.

  • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications.

  • Provide individual and group therapy where applicable.

  • Collaborate with psychologists, nurses, social workers, and other medical professionals.

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold patient confidentiality.

  • Offer guidance, counseling, and crisis intervention as needed.

  • Support adolescent mental health services within the clinic.


Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in Medicine with specialization in Psychiatry.

  • Active, valid medical license allowing practice in Rwanda.

  • Proven expertise in mental health, psychiatric care, and clinical treatment.

  • Knowledge of adolescent psychiatry is highly desirable.

  • Minimum 1 year of consulting or clinical experience (hospital or medical center preferred).

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient-management skills.

  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Proficiency in English (native or bilingual level preferred).

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Ability to work on-site; some positions may include home-to-work transportation or remote work elements as indicated.
