World Vision International (WVI), a global Christian humanitarian organization with over 75 years of experience, is seeking a highly specialized Senior Advisor to revolutionize our Child Sponsorship program. This pivotal global role is focused on applying world-class customer experience design and marketing principles to strengthen how sponsorship is experienced by our donors globally, ensuring its long-term relevance and growth.


🎯 Role Purpose: Global Sponsor Engagement & Loyalty

The Senior Advisor, Sponsor Experience & Journey Design is a strategic partner to World Vision’s Support Offices (SOs). This role drives the evolution of the Child Sponsorship product, ensuring it remains compelling, emotionally resonant, and aligned with modern consumer trends. The core mandate is to design, implement, and optimize sponsor journeys to increase satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth across the WVI partnership.

βœ… Key Responsibilities: Driving Sponsorship Innovation

1. Sponsor Journey & Experience Design

  • Journey Mapping: Guide Support Offices in designing optimal end-to-end sponsor journeys, identifying key digital and physical touchpoints for meaningful post-conversion experiences.

  • Impact Storytelling: Develop strategies and frameworks that help SOs effectively demonstrate impact and build emotional connection, fostering long-term sponsor loyalty.

  • Global/Local Balance: Provide frameworks that allow SOs to achieve global alignment in sponsorship delivery while maintaining the necessary local relevance and flexibility.

2. Product Expression & Market Relevance

  • Positioning: Partner with Support Offices to shape fresh and compelling sponsorship product expressions that resonate in today’s competitive philanthropic marketplace.

  • Pre-Conversion Refinement: Collaborate on refining the pre-conversion experience (marketing offer and messaging) to effectively attract and inspire new supporters.

  • Digital-First Focus: Support consistency in global sponsorship expression, prioritizing digital-first engagement and retention practices.

3. Insights, Innovation & Enablement

  • Research & Testing: Facilitate agile research and testing to deeply understand sponsor needs, motivations, and behaviors (e.g., using metrics like NPS, retention rates, and digital engagement).

  • Test-and-Learn Culture: Promote a continuous test-and-learn culture by piloting new engagement strategies and product expressions based on performance data.

  • Collaboration: Act as a consultative partner, facilitating communities of practice and creating adaptable tools and messaging resources for SOs to apply locally.

  • Ecosystem Integration: Ensure sponsorship journeys align seamlessly with broader digital strategies, campaigns, and overall SO engagement opportunities.


πŸ”‘ Required Qualifications and Experience

Mandatory Requirements

  • Experience: 10+ years in marketing, product expression, or customer experience design, ideally with global consumer-facing brands (e.g., FMCG, digital platforms).

  • Expertise: Proven success in framing and positioning products for market appeal and expertise in journey design and customer/sponsor engagement strategies.

  • Skills: Strong background in digital-first engagement and retention practices.

  • Global Context: Experience collaborating effectively in global or matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders.

  • Faith: Active Christian faith and alignment with World Vision’s mission and values.

Desirable Qualifications and Attributes

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.

  • Advanced certification or equivalent experience in fundraising or digital marketing.

  • Strategic thinker skilled in storytelling and creating frameworks that bring experiences and impact to life.

Travel and Work Environment

  • Travel: 15% international travel required.

  • Work: The role is virtual and requires the ability to accommodate work across multiple global time zones.
