✨ About the Role

Graphic Design Analyst (Kigali)

Based at the AIMS Research and Innovation Centre (RIC) and reporting to the Communications Manager – Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, the Graphic Design Analyst will play a key role in shaping AIMS’ visual storytelling.

You will create engaging visual content—from static graphics to motion design and video—supporting programs that drive scientific innovation and youth empowerment across Africa.


🎯 Key Responsibilities

Visual Content Creation

  • Design high-impact graphics, illustrations, and layouts

  • Produce motion graphics and edited videos for digital platforms

  • Create content for:

    • Social media

    • Events & conferences

    • Promotional campaigns

    • Reports & presentations

Communication & Collaboration

  • Work closely with program teams to understand objectives

  • Translate complex ideas into clear, compelling visuals

  • Offer creative input to strengthen AIMS’ communication strategy

Brand & Asset Management

  • Ensure brand consistency across all visual materials

  • Maintain and organize the digital asset library

  • Support multiple departments with timely, high-quality designs

Planning & Execution

  • Coordinate with the Communications Manager on schedules and deadlines

  • Manage multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment


🧠 Required Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

  • Recently completed degree in:

    • Communication

    • Graphic Design

    • Multimedia

    • or related field

  • Portfolio showcasing graphic design, motion graphics, or video work

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in:

    • Canva

    • Adobe Creative Suite:

      • Illustrator

      • Photoshop

      • Premiere Pro

      • After Effects

  • Solid understanding of:

    • Design principles

    • Typography

    • Visual storytelling

Personal Attributes

  • Creative, detail-oriented, and well organized

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks

  • Strong alignment with AIMS’ mission and values
