Certified Electrical Technician: Drive Industrial Excellence at Browns Plantations

Browns Plantations Rwanda, a leading tea manufacturer, is seeking a high-caliber Certified Electrical Technician for its operations in Nyaruguru. This role is critical for the continuous operation of our tea processing factory, ensuring that all electrical assets are maintained to global standards.

Purpose of the Role

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the electrical workshop and the entire factory’s electrical sections. This includes adherence to OHSE (Health and Safety), HACCP quality protocols, and the Rainforest Alliance (RA) standards.

Primary Accountabilities

• Shift Operations: Manage daily electrical shift operations to meet production parameters.

• Asset Maintenance: Ensure the safety, security, and upkeep of all factory machinery, stocks, and electrical assets.

• Technical Compliance: Implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Rainforest Alliance audit recommendations.

• Staff Training: Lead and train the electrical team in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

• Communication: Maintain clear reporting lines with management regarding machinery maintenance and energy usage proposals.

Mandatory Candidate Qualifications

• Certification: Must be Certified by RURA as an Electrical Technician (Class B and above).

• Education: Certificate or Diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.

• Experience: 2–4 years of practical experience, preferably in a tea processing or similar industrial environment.

• Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of manufacturing quality and attention to detail.
