LuNa Smelter Ltd is Rwanda’s established tin smelter based in Kigali. As part of its optimization and localization plans, the company is seeking skilled professionals to maximize production capacity and meet the growing demand in Rwanda and the regional mining sector.
About the Role
The Maintenance Operation and Planning Specialist will report directly to the Maintenance Manager. The successful candidate will ensure that maintenance activities are efficiently planned, scheduled, and executed to optimize equipment availability, operational efficiency, and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning and Scheduling
Develop and maintain preventive and corrective maintenance plans.
Schedule and coordinate maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime.
Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to ensure effective execution of maintenance work.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
Track maintenance performance indicators and prepare reports for management.
Analyze maintenance data to identify improvement opportunities and cost optimization measures.
Safety and Compliance
Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to HSE standards and company safety procedures.
Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Continuous Improvement
Support initiatives aimed at improving maintenance reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Recommend process improvements based on data-driven insights and industry best practices.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in maintenance operations and planning.
Proven experience in preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with HSE standards and safe work practices.
