JOB TITLE: Document Controller
LOCATION: Lake Kivu, Rwanda

An international Marine Construction Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Document Controller to support an upcoming offshore Oil & Gas project on Lake Kivu. The ideal candidate must have proven experience in international Oil & Gas environments, strong knowledge of ADCI/IMCA diving standards, and hands-on experience in marine works.
This role is vital for ensuring accurate, secure, and timely management of all project documentation, both digital and physical. The Document Controller will act as the central point of coordination for all official communication, technical records, and contractual documents.
Key Responsibilities
Document Management & Control
Implement and manage the project Document Control Matrix in collaboration with the client.
Issue, track, and manage document transmittals according to the communication matrix and project deadlines.
Monitor incoming documents and ensure they are reviewed, actioned, and responded to by the appropriate teams.
Maintain accurate filing systems, ensuring secure storage of both physical and electronic records.
Review documents to ensure accuracy, correct formatting, and up-to-date content.
Communication & Information Flow
Distribute project-related information to internal teams and, when necessary, external stakeholders.
Handle documentation requests and ensure controlled access to sensitive information.
Support smooth information exchange across engineering, construction, and client teams.
Quality, Reporting & Final Handover
Ensure strict confidentiality of all sensitive documents.
Assist with the preparation and submission of project documentation during Project Close-Out.
Produce ad-hoc documentation reports when required.
What We’re Looking For
Mandatory Skills & Experience
Proven experience working on international Oil & Gas projects.
Experience in marine construction operations.
Familiarity with IMCA and ADCI diving regulations, including relevant reporting procedures.
Strong understanding of Document Control methodologies, systems, and workflows.
High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
Excellent written and spoken English, including knowledge of contractual and technical terminology.
Soft Skills
Systematic, structured, and methodical approach to handling documentation.
Ability to manage large volumes of information with precision.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
