The FAO Representation in Kigali is hiring a Programme Assistant (Operations) to coordinate programme and budget support across its Rwanda office. This role is central to the smooth delivery of FAO’s agricultural development projects in the country.
What you’ll do
- •Monitor Regular Programme and project budgets; allocate funds and flag issues to management
- •Support preparation of Periodic Budgetary Reports (PBR) and biennial Programme of Work and Budget (PWB)
- •Draft project budget revisions in consultation with budget holders
- •Initiate, administer, and monitor Letters of Agreement throughout project implementation
- •Coordinate administrative and financial actions for staff, travel, procurement, and payments
- •Compile and synthesise data from multiple sources to support financial analysis and reporting
- •Support dissemination of project outputs, knowledge products, and communication materials
- •Provide procedural guidance to junior Programme Assistants and other staff
- •Review and recommend improvements to programme/project administration processes
Minimum requirements
- →Secondary school education
- →4 years of relevant programme/project support experience
- →Working proficiency in English (level C)
- →Good knowledge of MS Office applications
- →Rwandan national or valid work permit holder
- →Must reside within commuting distance of Kigali
Nice to have
- →Intermediate proficiency in a second FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish)
- →Knowledge of FAO or UN corporate information systems
- →Experience with programme/budget procedures in a UN or international organisation
