Job Opportunity: Junior Accountant

Rwanda Nut is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting activities, office administration, and coordination of internal and external operations. This role requires excellent organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to communicate effectively with staff, visitors, and service providers.

The Junior Accountant will work closely with the Assistant Administration Manager, COO, and Senior Accountant to ensure smooth business operations.


Key Responsibilities

A. Documentation & Filing

  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation for financial, administrative, and operational records.

  • Ensure all files are properly stored, updated, and easy to retrieve.

B. Procurement & Stock Monitoring

  • Assist with tracking procurement activities and maintaining complete purchase records.

  • Monitor stock levels and promptly report any shortages or discrepancies.

C. Administrative Support

  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding office matters.

  • Welcome visitors and support reception and meeting arrangements.

  • Assist in planning and coordinating logistics for events, both internal and external.

  • Provide general administrative support to ensure seamless day-to-day office operations.

D. External Follow-Up

  • Visit government offices, suppliers, and partners when required.

  • Follow up on documents, payments, and pending requests from stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, OR a final-year accounting student.

  • Strong organizational and administrative abilities.

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles (an added advantage).

  • Good communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda.

  • Ability to work independently, responsibly, and with high integrity.


Working Conditions

  • Work schedule: 4 days at the office + 1 day working from home or for city errands.

  • Office hours: 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM (including a 45-minute break).

  • Home-office day: Available between 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM for follow-ups and operations.

  • Occasional messages or calls may occur outside standard hours based on work needs.


Compensation

  • Net Salary: 150,000 RWF per month (starting).

  • One-Time Start Allowance: 100,000 RWF, payable at commencement.


Contract Terms

  • Contract Duration: 1 year.

  • Probation Period: 3 months.
