About the Role
BRAC International is seeking two Regional Finance Coordinators to support financial management for the AIM Program across the Huye and Nyanza regions. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with BRAC and donor rules, strong internal controls, and efficient supervision of Finance Officers in both regions.
This position requires regular field visits to AIM branches and close collaboration with regional and program teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Management & Accounting
Oversee all regional financial operations for the AIM Program.
Review and validate financial transactions before approval.
Ensure timely and accurate posting of transactions into the accounting system.
Monitor payments processed by Finance Officers and ensure compliance.
Maintain organized and complete financial documentation for both regions.
2. Budgeting & Financial Reporting
Support budget development, monitoring, and variance analysis.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and special financial reports.
Track spending against approved budgets and flag deviations.
Provide financial insights to support program planning and decision-making.
3. Compliance & Internal Controls
Enforce BRAC International and donor financial policies.
Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets.
Support internal and external audits and ensure timely follow-up on recommendations.
4. Treasury & Cash Management
Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts and request necessary funding.
Monitor petty cash usage and ensure accurate reconciliations.
Review cash and bank reconciliations prepared by Finance Officers.
5. Staff Supervision & Capacity Building
Supervise Finance Officers in Huye and Nyanza.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and build capacity of finance staff.
Guide program teams on financial procedures and compliance.
6. Field Visits & Branch Oversight
Conduct regular monitoring visits to AIM branches.
Verify field payments, cash handling, and compliance with procedures.
Offer onsite support and mentorship to branch finance personnel.
7. Coordination & Communication
Collaborate with regional and program teams to support smooth operations.
Report financial updates, risks, and challenges to the Finance & Grants team.
Ensure timely submission of financial reports and documentation to the Country Office.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
Ensure a safe environment free from harm, abuse, harassment, and exploitation.
Promote safeguarding principles within teams and uphold organizational standards.
Follow safeguarding reporting procedures and encourage others to do the same.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
CPA certification (or active progress toward it) is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
Hands-on experience supervising field finance teams.
Proficiency in ERP/accounting software.
Good understanding of donor compliance and NGO financial regulations.
Knowledge of financial control, cost accounting, cash flow analysis, planning, and forecasting.
Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience Requirements
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, preferably within NGOs or donor-funded programs.
