Legal Expert – EU Sustainability & Circular Economy Legislation (Hybrid, Part-Time)

NTU International A/S is recruiting qualified Legal Experts to join a talent pool for the EU Circular Economy and Water Facility Project. Both Junior and Senior Non-Key Experts are encouraged to apply. Selected experts will be contacted based on project needs during implementation.

This position is ideal for legal professionals with strong experience in EU environmental, sustainability, and circular economy legislation, especially those familiar with its implications for partner countries, international trade, and development frameworks.


Role Summary

The Legal Expert will provide high-level advisory support, legal analysis, regulatory gap assessments, and technical inputs related to EU sustainability and circular economy legislation. The role contributes to policy reform, compliance, and project design for EU Delegations and partner governments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse EU circular economy and sustainability legislation and evaluate implications for partner and third countries.

  • Provide legal input for policy reforms, investment proposals, project design, and compliance strategies.

  • Support EU Delegations, ministries, and partner governments with legal interpretations and regulatory assessments.

  • Conduct regulatory gap analyses and develop guidance notes, briefs, and legal technical documents.

  • Contribute to legal compliance recommendations aligned with EU Green Deal frameworks.


Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, European Studies, Environmental Law, International Trade Law, or related field (required).

  • Master’s degree is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in EU sustainability, environmental, or circular economy legislation.

  • At least 3 years working on legal or regulatory impacts in international cooperation, development, or trade.

  • Proven experience drafting legal analyses, compliance recommendations, and regulatory assessments.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of the EU Green Deal, sustainability frameworks, and product legislation.

  • Ability to analyse legal implications for non-EU partner countries.

  • Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills.

Languages

  • Excellent English required.

  • Knowledge of French or Spanish is an asset.
