VisionFund International — World Vision’s microfinance arm — is looking for a Resource Development & Management Advisor to lead grant acquisition and funding management across its Africa region. This is a senior role for an experienced fundraiser who understands the development finance landscape and can build lasting relationships with institutional donors while ensuring rigorous compliance and high-quality impact reporting.

What you’ll do

Resource Development & Funding Pipeline

  • Manage the full RFP response cycle — review, profile, align with MFI priorities, and obtain approvals
  • Build and maintain a regional funding opportunity pipeline aligned with VFI strategic priorities
  • Lead proposal development teams; write and submit high-quality proposals on time and to specifications

Donor & Partner Relationship Management

  • Build and sustain relationships with major regional institutional funders and World Vision offices
  • Represent VisionFund at sector forums, seminars, and communities of practice to leverage partnerships
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of microfinance industry trends and donor funding priorities

Grant Monitoring, Compliance & Reporting

  • Monitor project compliance and implementation to ensure delivery against donor specifications
  • Ensure timely, high-quality technical and financial impact reporting to all donors
  • Review contracts, manage risks, and ensure effective funds flow to MFIs

Systems, Processes & Capacity Building

  • Build MFI staff capacity in grants management, proposal writing, and project monitoring
  • Contribute to proposal content libraries and streamline grant funding processes and documentation
  • Identify and replicate best practices from field reports; drive mid-term and final evaluations

Minimum requirements

  • Degree in International Development, Economics, Marketing or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in grant acquisition, fundraising, or corporate management
  • Strong proposal writing, persuasive communication, and evidence development skills
  • Experience working in a development context in a grants or resource mobilisation role
  • Excellent research, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluency in English; French is a strong asset

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field, accounting qualification, or grants certification
  • Experience in financial inclusion, microfinance, or humanitarian/fragile contexts
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate complex stakeholder relationships
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity and flexibility to work across wide international time zones
