World Vision Rwanda is hiring an Internal Auditor to help safeguard the organisation’s resources and strengthen its internal controls. With 75 years of global experience, World Vision is one of the world’s largest Christian humanitarian organisations — and this role sits at the heart of ensuring accountability, integrity, and efficiency across all operations in Rwanda.
What you’ll do
Planning (10%)
- •Participate in developing and preparing the Annual Audit Plan for the Internal Audit Department
- •Develop individual Audit Engagement Plans for each assignment
Audit fieldwork (60%)
- •Perform audit work in accordance with the approved audit manual and professional standards
- •Independently assess compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulations across all business processes
- •Review and appraise the soundness of accounting, financial, HR, MIS, and other internal controls; detect irregularities and illegal acts
- •Audit assets, liabilities, and operational processes for accuracy, efficiency, and proper safeguarding against fraud and misappropriation
- •Provide investigative services as needed and recommend policy changes to strengthen control systems
- •Conduct client visits, clarify findings with auditees during fieldwork, and ensure all working papers are complete and properly referenced
Reporting (25%)
- •Submit written audit reports to supervisor with sufficient coverage and write clear summaries of findings for exit discussions
- •Discuss results with relevant unit and department managers and advise on corrective actions
- •Monitor management responses to audit recommendations and follow up to ensure timely resolution of findings
Minimum requirements
- →University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Microfinance, Banking, BIT, or related field
- →At least 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or audit
- →Actively pursuing CPA, ACCA, CIA, CISA, or CFE professional qualification
- →Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
