Shift Manager at Browns Plantations Rwanda: Lead Sustainable Tea Production
Browns Plantations Rwanda, part of the international Browns Group, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Manager to join its Kibeho Tea Factory in Nyaruguru. Operating on an 800ha Rainforest Alliance Certified estate and supporting over 3,000 smallholder farmers, Browns offers a prestigious career in sustainable agriculture.
Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing, the Shift Manager oversees production shifts, ensures set targets are met, and directs teams toward manufacturing excellence. You will be responsible for coaching, evaluating, and disciplining personnel while optimizing resources.
Core Accountabilities & Deliverables
World-Class Manufacturing (WCM): Coordinate the implementation of WCM, Quality Management Systems (QMS), and ISO standards.
Production Excellence: Monitor tea processing levels, review techniques for resource efficiency, and ensure products meet customer specifications.
OHSE & Compliance: Enforce Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment regulations and ensure factory-wide adherence to SOPs.
Financial Oversight: Control budgetary expenses, participate in annual budget preparation, and validate stock movements.
Asset Management: Oversee plant machinery and utilities (steam, water, electricity) during your shift.
Candidate Requirements: Education & Experience
Education: Bachelorβs degree in Food Science, Production Technology, Agricultural/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or Chemistry.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years in a manufacturing or production environment.
Skills: Expertise in performance management, tea tasting (highly valued), financial management systems, and interpersonal relations.
